Daily Outlook

Severe storms will be possible across the Great Lakes through this afternoon, with an additional threat further south across the Lower Mississippi Valley through tonight.  A winter storm will impact the Northwest region over the next several days with significant snowfall accumulations expected for the mountains.

No severe weather is anticipated through the weekend.  Showers and thunderstorms will persist through this afternoon across central Texas and the Gulf states.  Widespread rain from Texas into Missouri will be the story of the weekend, though, with showers developing Saturday morning and lasting into Sunday with the movement of a Cutoff Low through the Southern Plains.

A cold front moving through the central U.S. will present a threat for severe thunderstorms on Thursday from Texas into Arkansas.  Light to moderate snow is also possible for portions of New Mexico.

No severe weather is forecast for Wednesday.  The most significant chance for snow will exist across portions of Colorado through Thursday morning.

While no severe storms are expected on Tuesday, very gusty conditions will persist across the Central/Southern Plains and Midwest regions this afternoon and tonight.  Light to moderate snow will impact the Intermountain West and Sierra Nevada.

No severe weather is expected on Monday.  Light snow will be possible across eastern Kentucky, Viriginia, and North Carolina, while light to moderate snow will impact the higher elevations of the Pacific Northwest.

A significant outbreak of severe weather, including the potential for strong, long track tornadoes, will occur today and tonight across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennesse, Mississippi, and Alabama.  The threat for severe weather will shift to the east later tonight across Ohio, West Virginia, and Georiga.  For Saturday, a small risk for showers and thunderstorms will exist across the Southeast.  No significant severe weather is anticipated on Sunday.

There is a low risk for severe thunderstorms across Arkansas and Missouri, mainly after dark and into the overnight hours.  Storms will also persist across the Southeast this afternoon, although the majority should stay below severe limits.   Elsewhere, snow will impact New England and the Intermountain West through tonight.

A threat for severe weather, including tornadoes, will exist across Tennessee and surrounding areas through tonight.  Snow is likely from eastern Minnesota into southern New England, and also across the Pacific Northwest.

The arrival of a deep upper-level cyclone will bring a chance for severe weather across the Central Plains this afternoon, with the threat shifting east into Arkansas and the Mid-Mississippi Valley after dark.  A major winter storms is also expected late this afternoon thru Wednesday across the Northern Plains.
