Today

Tropical Weather

We now have Tropical Storm Hermine in the Gulf.  Hermine is expected to make landfall into Mexico and extreme southern Texas later tonight with maximum winds of around 35knots.  Main threats will be heavy rainfall and possible flooding.

Excessive Rainfall

As mentioned above, there is a slight to moderate risk of heavy rainfall over extreme southern Texas where up to 5 inches of rain is possible.

Severe Weather

Thunderstorms are likely to occur over the Upper-Midwest region late this afternoon into the overnight hours as a shortwave trough impacts the area.  Hail, damaging winds, and even a few tornadoes will be possible from Iowa, into southern Minnesota and portions of Wisconsin.
