In the mobile space, WDT was awarded the prestigious "Top 50" Google Android Developer Award for its revolutionary iMapMobile location-based handheld weather application, and is supplying a growing number of TV and radio company with best-in-class iPhone and mobile web applications.
WDT has built "state-of-the-science" custom systems and services for utilities, international airports and other large-scale enterprises, and provides sophisticated "weather forensics" information to a variety of insurance and other industries.
WDT currently employs 70 employees in its U.S. and global offices. The technology experts at WDT are all leading scientists from world renowned weather research organizations, including the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), the University of Oklahoma's Center for Analysis and Prediction of Storms (CAPS) and the Oklahoma Climatological Survey. WDT headquarters are in Norman, Oklahoma and we maintain an international, development and marketing offices in metropolitan Washington D.C., Atlanta, Georgia, and Austin Texas.

Terry L. Jones has served as a director of WDT since 2008. He is the managing partner of the Syncom Venture Partners (Syncom) and a founder of a group of private investment funds under common management with Syncom.

WDT global weather data is hosted at the multi-million dollar commercial data center (PTC) featuring 300+ processors for guaranteed 99.999% uptime availability.
Our Oklahoma City Data Center features dual fiber connectivity from multiple Tier 1 backbone providers, dual redundancies throughout our internal network and full power backup systems, including interception UPS's and a diesel generator with extended fuel storage on site. Our applications are housed inside this data center on multiple redundant storage systems and monitored proactively by our TAC Team each day, assuring our partners and customers receive the highest available level of support and uptime.
WDT is Certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a “Qualified Internet Communication Provider”.
