Professional Facilities-Based Weather Services
iWatch (now branded iMapPro) is a complete weather package, utilizing a wide array of WDT's proprietary weather and lightning technologies. Now you can have advanced severe weather tracking, real-time lightning, lightning prediction, site-specific alerting, ice and snow monitoring technologies, and tropical storm tracking all in one concise service.
iMapPro is delivered via the internet. This allows you to access the system at multiple locations within your office facility. You can even access iMapProfessional on the road or in the comfort of your own home.
The iMapPro display software offers interactive and customizable weather maps. With iMapProfessional, you can customize your display by integrating your existing GIS maps.
Increase your operational efficiency and safety with iMapProfessional.
Custom Maps
GIS Map Integration. iMapPro utilizes the WxScope Plugin, a proprietary weather display software. This software allows you, with ease, to zoom to a street level view, toggle different map layers, and interact with the weather data.
Customizing your weather maps is a snap with the iMapProfessional display. iMapPro integrates any of your existing GIS maps or asset locations, allowing you to monitor thunderstorms, snow, or lightning strikes relative to your specific assets and areas. iMapPro includes local streets and roads, giving you un-matched weather tracking detail.
Asset Monitoring
Weather Alerts For Your Exact Locations. Receive weather alerts for site specific locations across your area. iMapPro automatically monitors all types of weather for these locations and send valuable arrival and departure time information. This allows you to see when adverse weather will effect and clear a site specific location down to the minute.
Using the iMapAlert platform, WDT uses proprietary lightning, hail, and heavy rain warnings. Alerts also include standard National Weather Service warnings such as tornado, winter storm, flood, and wind warnings.
Alerts can be delivered to you via the internet, cell phone, pager, or email. This allows you to receive alerts for your specific assets while you are in the office, in the field, on the road, or in the comfort of your own home.
Prediction Tools
Plan Ahead For Approaching Lightning – Site Specific Lightning Alerts. WDT’s exclusive Lightning Prediction Algorithm (LPA) is used to determine where high lightning threats will be in the next 30 minutes. LPA looks at real time lightning strikes, lightning strike density areas, and storm cell movements to create an accurate moderate and high threat forecast area. If your site specific locations fall within this lightning threat area, a lightning alert is issued for that location.
Additionally, these predicted lightning threat areas are displayed graphically on your custom maps. The LPA is 96% accurate out to 30 minutes and 99% accurate out to 10 minutes.
Real Time Lightning Display
See Actual Lightning Strikes as They Occur. iMapPro includes real time lightning strike information from the United States Precision Lightning Network (USPLN). With this technology, iMapPro delivers highly accurate lightning strike locations as storms move through your territory.
Lightning strike data is displayed within the WxScope Plugin, allowing you to see exactly where lightning strikes are occurring in real time relative to your maps and assets. The interactive display also gives you the ability to see the strike time, strength, and polarity of each strike.
Data Archival
iMapPro includes access to WDT's proprietary weather database. See what happened in the past with the advanced iMapPro archive retrieval interface. Archives include:
Lightning Archives: Pull up any lightning strike data back 365 days across your territory. Archive lightning strike data is displayed within the WxScope Plugin, allowing you to see each strike relative to your custom maps. Zoom to a specific strike to see what it hit, what time it hit down to the second, and how strong it was.
Radar Archives: See the past 24 hours of radar images across your area. If strong storms blow through overnight, iMapPro allows you to look at these storms and how they evolved the next day.
Observation Archives: See weather observation archives from numerous reporting stations across your area. With this interface, you can display two weeks of observations in tabular or easy to read graphical formats. Observations include weather parameters such as hourly temperatures, relative humidity, winds, maximum temperatures, and minimum temperatures.
