In addition, WDT utilizes the GFS model for other global applications.
Site-specific modelingWDT can host your real-time or retrospective mesoscale forecast. We also provide custom systems that run on your hardware with your data feeds. (For remote, real-time operations, WDT recommends IPS MeteoStar for data feeds.)
Key Numerical Modeling Projects
- WDT built and implemented a WRF ADAS NWP System (nested in GFS) for the government of Paraguay. WDT worked with CAPS to build an ADAS-to-WRF converter for this project. LEADS is used for the data ingest (Carpenter et al., 2004).
- WDT built and delivered to Meteorlogix an ARPS ADAS system for use locally by television stations (Carpenter and Bassett, 2001).
- WDT and CAPS built and implemented a large ARPS ADAS solution for Williams Energy Marketing and Trading.
- WDT ported the GFS and GDAS to a 300-node Linux cluster for Williams Energy Marketing and Trading and developed a system for running it early.
- WDT has implemented in-house an WRF ADAS solution and runs it operationally 24/7/365. Customers include: IPS MeteoStar, AccuWeather, Meteorlogix, Weather Central, WeatherTAP, Jeppesen, NEG-Micon USA, Noble Drilling, Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative, and over 100 Electric Cooperatives.
