GIS Weather

Until recently, there has been very limited capability to efficiently overlay weather data on assets in GIS platforms. In fact, even today, GIS has limited tools and capabilities to specifically display weather data. Instead, most GIS data types are fixed and do not change every few seconds or minutes like weather data. ESRI (the global leader in GIS) is making significant strides to accommodate large and dynamic weather datasets and provide capabilities tailored to weather data display and analysis. These capabilities include onboard animation of weather data and reading certain standard weather data formats (e.g network Common Data Form [netCDF]). Continued enhancements of ArcGIS by ESRI will continue to revolutionize weather data displays and capabilities in GIS.
WDT, already a leader in weather content, is matching that leadership position with fully GIS-compatible data, industry standard mechanisms to access the data, and data that is pleasing to the users eye. Already an ESRI business partner, WDTs GIS content is certified to be fully ESRI GIS compliant.
WDT, as a forerunner of the weather industry, provides higher resolution, superior precision, and the most accurate weather information to our clients. We are unsurpassed in processing radar data, lightning data and other data sources, adding value to those data streams, and in nowcasting (0-6 hour predictions) of precipitation and severe weather events. WDT now offers the added value of overlaying high impact weather over your assets in your existing GIS.
