A critical component of the USPLN is the storage of all identified lightning strokes for later use in forensics lightning services WDT has developed and launched its own lightning verification product called LightningTrax™. LightningTrax™ is designed specifically to assist you in determining the presence or absence of cloud-to-ground lightning strokes relative to a given address on a specific date. Each LightningTrax™ report includes a search of the USPLN™ archive, a detailed color street-level map, a user-defined search period of 1 to 72 hours, a search radius as small as one (1) mile or up to 15 mile radius, a print out of each lightning stroke detected, including: date, time, latitude, longitude, polarity, amplitude and range bearing (from the search location to each lightning stroke).

The report is viewed on-line and stored as a .pdf in each customer's account. Each LightningTrax™ report is viewable in your web browser and is also made available in PDF format. In addition, deliver options include mailing via U.S. mail or FedEx overnight on request. Claims adjusters, forensic engineers, arson investigators, self-insured property owners, and attorneys are the most common customer of LightningTrax™ reports, and the largest application is claim confirmation by the property/casualty insurance industry.

Also built upon the USPLN technology and data archive, LightningExpress™ provides an entirely new level of lightning related claims verification. LightningExpress™ allows carriers, their claims personnel and their agents (yes, agents) the unlimited freedom to process as many lightning claims as they desire, all for one low annual fee. With LightningExpress™, the agents too can access LightningExpress to verify the overwhelming majority of lightning claims - those with claims ™ LightningExpress™ Service is designed for property/casualty insurance carriers and other customers handling large quantities of lightning claims.

LightningExpress™ Service offers unlimited access to the USPLN™ archives to validate lighting claims. The resulting lightning verification product includes the same features as LightningTrax™.

In addition to these standard products, WDT can also provide USPLN lightning stroke data in various formats including csv, shapefile and XML for those clients wishing to render and analyze lightning stroke data for other specific needs such as building planning and risk assessment/management.
